Over the course of this tour, you will get to know Nizhny Nogorod’s Zarechnaya District which, along with the Nagornaya («Upper») part of the city, has played a major role in the history and formation of its outward aspect. You will also pay a visit to the site of the famous Nizhny Novgorod Fair, which was moved to the city in 1816.
You will see Meshcherskoe Lake, which also played a role in the transportation of goods during the operation of the Nizhny Novgorod Fair, and the Smolensk (Stroganov) Church in Gordeevka. At the end of the tour, you will visit the Sormovsky District, and find out more about its history. The area was once covered by dense pine and oak forests, which formed the basis for Sormovsky Park.
