Grebeshkovsky Slope

A sloping hill on the elevated right bank of the Oka is framed with Chernigovskaya Street and the motorway descending towards the metro bridge. This is where Kuzma Minin had his first house until 1613 (that spot is now occupied by a 1959 three-story building). The current main landmark around here is the slightly decayed Bashkirovs' Mansion. A great view opens from here onto the metro bridge, the Oka and the part of Nizhny Novgorod on the lower left bank of the Oka. Down the slope you can see the Blagoveschenskaya Sloboda Commercial District and the Romodanovsky Railway Station.
