The «Pokrovka 8» Museum is located on the central and one of the oldest streets of Nizhny Novgorod, Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, in a three-story building, which is an architectural monument of the 19th century. The first floor used to be a shop while the upper ones were rented out as apartments. Adjacent to the mansion was a one-story building, which used to house the Sverdlov Stamp Engraving and Printing Workshop since 1881 and where Yakov Sverdlov, a revolutionary politician, was born in 1885.
Today, the first and second floors are taken by the «Nizhny 800» flagship store where you can buy a variety of souvenirs.
