The Department of Western European Art of the Nizhny Novgorod State Art is housed in the merchant Dmitry Sirotkin’s mansion (Sirotkin Residence) built in the neoclassical style. It boasts an excellent collection of Western European art (Lucas Cranach the Elder, El Greco to name but a few) and an entire room is allocated to Konstantin Makovsky’s great painting «The Call to Arms of Kuzma Minin». This painting is truly remarkable for its size, the canvas measuring six by seven meters!
The VR tools will enable you to have a most profound look at the painting. Enjoy the splendid interior of the merchant’s mansion: the grand oak staircase, panel doors with brass handles, ceiling paintings by the famous architect Viktor Vesnin.
