The Nizhny Novgorod State Circus named after Margarita Nazarova (yes, that’s the famous animal tamer from «Striped Trip», a Soviet comedy film) is located in the Kanavinsky District, just a five-minute walk from Moskovsky Railway Station and «Moskovskaya» metro station. The Nizhny Novgorod Circus boasts a long history with its first wooden building constructed back in 1883. The circus was rebuilt many times over on the same spot. The circus got a new lease of life in 2007 following a large-scale reconstruction that made it the largest circus facility in Europe.
With a floor area of 30,000 square meters, the circus seats 2,000 spectators and has spaces for wheelchair users.
The circus regularly receives touring performer dynasties that are renowned all across the globe. As the program is updated each year, do consult the schedule on the official website first.
