Name Garden is a public memorial complex created by artists Artem Filatov and Alexey Korsi in the courtyard of a private crematorium in Nizhny Novgorod.

Aimed at combating the fear of death, this project has gone beyond an important artistic statement, offering many citizens a reason to visit the crematorium, learn about its history and, surprisingly, to find themselves in a blooming garden with a sound installation. You can symbolically dedicate any plant of 120 various species that grow in the garden to your deceased loved one via the project’s website.

The project concept brings together a botanic garden and the sound installation based on modern ritual forms, ideas of corporeity and the virtuality of human memory. Manually operated, this installation is switched on specifically for visitors.
