The recreated Bell Tower is a new point of interest in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, with its clock modeled after that of the 19th century, chiming for the first time on December 31, 2020. The early 20th century saw the Transfiguration Cathedral on this site, with part of its old foundations preserved and put on public display. There are a total of 15 bells in the tower! If you haven’t been able to have a good look at Nizhny Novgorod from the Kremlin wall or one of the Kremlin towers, then you can get an almost bird’s eye view of the city from the viewing deck of the Bell Tower.
