This is one of Russia's largest stadia, seating 45,000. It hosted six matches of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, attended, among others, by Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, the then President of Croatia; this is where Lionel Messi graced the pitch and the legendary Diego Maradona wept in the stands as Argentina lost. Now the home ground of FC Pari Nizhny Novgorod, the stadium's round glowing bowl can be seen from anywhere in the city. There is a whole team of professionals who maintain the pitch, keeping it green all year round with irrigation and undersoil heating. There are over 150 toilets for spectators, which is by no means unimportant.
On non-match days, you can book a tour of the 'behind the scenes’ of the sports arena: the warm-up area, boot cleaning machine, mixed zone and much more.
