This is the first private zoo in Russia and one of the favorite places for walks for both children and adults in Nizhny Novgorod. Today, it is home to about 270 animal species, many of which are listed in the Russian Red Book of Endangered Species and cannot be found in any other Russian zoo. Many of the animals can be hand-fed with special animal feed, and the dwellers of the Russian Village petting zoo area even walk unhindered among visitors. The zoo also features a unique tropical botanical garden, part of the Amazonia complex, where amazing species of fish, birds and reptiles coexist peacefully in a skillfully recreated natural habitat, along with exotic flowers, trees and shrubs.
On top of visiting the zoo, you can have a lot of fun on a variety of amusement rides. The central avenue hosts an exhibition of vintage cars.
